A birding and photography journey into the cool montane forests of Sabah, home to some of the world’s most sought-after endemic birds.
This expedition takes us through the legendary birding hotspots of Kinabalu National Park, Gunung Alab and Trus Madi, where ancient cloud forests shelter species found nowhere else on Earth.
Travelling in July offers excellent opportunities to photograph Borneo’s mountain specialists from carefully positioned bird hides and forest trails, providing both close-up portrait opportunities and natural behavioural encounters.
Led by award-winning wildlife photographer Daryl Yeo, this small group experience combines bird photography, fieldcraft, species identification and photographic guidance in one of Southeast Asia’s most rewarding birding destinations.
Whether you are taking your first steps into bird photography or building a serious life list of Asian endemics, this expedition offers exceptional opportunities to observe and photograph some of Borneo’s rarest birds.
